The name, Tapisiminew, means she beads in Cree.

Tapisiminew Jewelry is owned and operated by Carol Gelette, who is Métis Cree, French and English. Her late father's family is from the Lac La Biche area and late mother's family was from Upton, Quebec. Carol's Indigenous name is Ahwoo Ghapsii. She was honored with this name by Elder Reg Crowshoe from Piikani First Nation. Carol started her journey of reconnecting to her culture. This past year, her journey also included learning how to bead. Beading is healing. She is thankful and honored to be able to share part of her journey with you.
